 Professional Biography

Ifalade Ta’Shia Asanti’s work as a success planner, business coach, cultural educator, journalist, non-profit exec and author have been written about in the New York Times, Advocate Magazine, TVguide.com, Denver Post and Entertainment Today.  Ta’Shia has made regular appearances on nationally syndicated news and talk shows including Fox, CBS, NBC, Good Day America and PBS.

Journalist--Ta'Shia has written and published over 1000 articles, essays, poems and short stories in her journalistic career.  She served as editor of Urban Spectrum Newspaper, In the Black Business Journal and GBF Magazine.  Ta’Shia broke ground as the first African-American columnist for the LN where she worked for 8 years. 


 Author--Ta’Shia is the author of 7 books, The Sacred Door: A Spiritual Guide to Power Living, The Master Breakthrough: 24 Hour Spiritual Revolution, The Seer: Legacy of Stone & Spirit, The Bones Do Talk (Glover Lane Press), Sheep & the Wolves, Fluid: Out of Darkness Comes Light (Glover Lane Press).  Ta'Shia also edited two award-winning anthologies, Tapestries of Faith and Letters to My Bully with Azaan Kamau.  Ta’Shia has contributed her original writings to numerous books, anthologies, magazines and journals including Essence Mag and many others.

Television--As a Reality TV star, Ta’Shia took on the issue of religious freedom in her starring role on the Sci-Fi Channel’s hit reality show, “Mad, Mad House,” a show about honoring cultural diversity that aired to millions.  NBC/Universal sent Ta’Shia on an international press tour with guest spots on major broadcast news networks, as well as extensive work on the radio (BBC, XM, KPFK, Blog Talk Radio and Sirius Radio). 

Film--Ta'Shia has appeared in award-winning documentaries including Showtime TV's Sex in the 20th Century, NBC’s Body of a Poet and E! Television's 100 Years of Women’s Evolution.  Ta'Shia has lectured and read poetry at colleges, cultural institutions and religious organizations across the world on a wide variety of topics including racism and diversity, public education, urban health, religion & spirituality, politics, world history, women's and human rights, sex and sexuality, the media, literary arts, film and social justice. 

Filmmaker--Ta’Shia wrote, produced and co-directed two short films which achieved critical acclaim on the international film festival circuit Train Station (USA 18min) and Rashida X: A Day in the Life of a Black Female Revolutionary (USA 21 Min).  Ta’Shia has consulted on various distinguished film and TV projects.

Organizer/Event Producer--Ta’Shia founded and produced the World Pride & Power Conference which featured keynote speakers, Bishop Yvette Flunder and New York Times bestselling author, Malidome Some’.  Ta’Shia produced the ATBLA/Los Angeles Black Pride Conference with over 40 speakers on community building, wellness, media activism and HIV/AIDS.  In collaboration with President Clinton’s race relations initiative, Ta’Shia organized a community dialogue uniting 40 non-profit orgs from across Southern California to discuss the impact of racism on America’s social and economic development.  Ta’Shia organized the International Ifa Conference which garnered a front page story in the Denver Post. 

TV Producer--Ta'Shia currently works as a Producer for Your World TV where she is host and producer of The Window, a World View Morning Talk Show and producer of  Inspiration Kitchen, a cooking show dedicated to exploring cultural cuisine.
